Cookie Policy
Last updated: November 13, 2025
This Cookie Policy explains how VelionBoost (“VelionBoost”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) uses cookies and similar technologies on https://velionboost.com. It forms part of our Privacy Policy.
1. What are cookies and similar technologies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your browser or device that allow websites to remember information about your visit (e.g., session state, preferences). We may also use web beacons (pixel tags / clear GIFs) to understand aggregate usage and email engagement, and browser local storage to persist simple UI settings.
2. Types of cookies we use
- Strictly necessary (essential) – required for core functionality (e.g., session management, CSRF protection, language/region preference). These do not store sensitive personal data and cannot be switched off in our systems.
- Analytics / performance – help us understand how the website is used so we can improve user experience (pages visited, basic device and event metrics). We use Google Analytics as described below.
- Functionality – remember your choices (e.g., language, interface preferences) to provide a more tailored experience.
3. What we do not use cookies for
- No interest-based advertising or retargeting pixels are deployed by default.
- We do not sell or rent cookie-derived data.
- We do not use automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
4. Google Analytics (GA4) – how we use it
We use Google Analytics (GA4) to collect aggregated statistics about site usage (e.g., page views, scroll depth, navigation flows). We implement GA with the following safeguards and settings where supported:
- IP anonymization (truncation) enabled by default.
- Data minimization: only essential events and parameters for performance measurement.
- Data sharing with Google (for benchmarking/tech support) disabled unless strictly necessary.
- Retention: GA4 event data retention set to 2 or 14 months (shortest practical window we can operate with); user-level data via Google Signals is disabled by default unless you explicitly consent.
- Consent Mode v2 respected:
analytics_storage,ad_storage,ad_user_data,ad_personalizationdefaults are treated as “denied” until you provide consent (if a consent banner is present in your region). - No Ads features by default (no remarketing audiences, no advertising reporting features) unless you opt in via the consent banner (if applicable).
Google may process the above information on servers outside your country. For details on Google’s data practices and controls, see Google Privacy Policy and Google Cookie Technologies.
4.1. Google Analytics cookies and related storage
| Name | Purpose | Type | Typical retention | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
_ga |
Distinguishes users (client ID) | Analytics cookie | ~2 years | GA4/gtag sets to manage unique visitor measurement |
_ga_<container-id> |
Stores session state | Analytics cookie | ~2 years | Per-property/container scope (GA4) |
_gid |
Distinguishes users (short-term) | Analytics cookie | ~24 hours | Short-lived identification |
_gat / _dc_gtm_<id> |
Throttle request rate | Analytics/Tag Manager | ~1 minute | May appear with legacy UA/gtag or GTM |
_gac_gb_<property-id> |
Campaign info for Ads linking | Analytics/Ads (optional) | ~90 days | Present only if Google Ads is linked |
_gcl_au |
Conversion linker (Ads) | Ads/Attribution (optional) | ~90 days | Set by gtag/Google Ads; used only if Ads features are enabled |
Cookie names and lifetimes can vary by browser, configuration, and Google updates.
4.2. Consent and regional controls
Where required (e.g., in the EEA/UK), we display a consent banner. Until you accept analytics, we treat analytics_storage as “denied” (no GA cookies). If you opt into Ads features, we may allow optional cookies such as _gcl_au and enable limited Ads integrations. You can change your preferences at any time via the banner (if available) or by clearing cookies.
5. Examples of essential & functionality cookies
| Name | Purpose | Type | Typical retention |
|---|---|---|---|
| session / XSRF-TOKEN | Session state / CSRF protection | Strictly necessary | Session / ~1–7 days |
| lang / locale | Stores selected language/region | Functionality cookie or localStorage | Up to 12 months |
6. Managing cookies
You can control cookies via your browser settings (block, delete, allow per site). Disabling essential cookies may break core features (e.g., login and session).
For Google Analytics, you can also use the Google Analytics Opt-out Add-on.
7. Third-party services
We may embed or interact with third-party services (e.g., Google Analytics for metrics, Discord for communication). Those providers may set their own cookies or use local storage under their policies. We recommend reviewing their privacy and cookie notices.
8. Updates to this policy
We may amend this Cookie Policy if our tooling changes (e.g., enabling Ads features or adding new analytics). Changes take effect upon publication on this page and will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
